we have wooden floors in our office, it is hard to restore the shine to a dull surface somehow with a long time then, i would rather go for carpeted or marble ,carpeted make me feel comfortable and marble add elegance to the space, moreover, marble is easy to clean to some extent.

visually wooden floors are the best. for bare feet carpet is the best, and for easy cleaning tiles are the best. but if i had to choose just one for my entire house i would go for wooden floor boards.

wood. I wouldn't have to get out the vacuum every time I need to vacuum my bedroom floor, just a quick sweep and no stains. I could just have a rug for when the floorboards get cold.. so problem solved.
