How long should you keep records from traffic citations?

Like traffic tickets, parking tickets, speeding tickets, etc.

    No need to keep them, unless you plan on using them in the future, they are not needed for anything once you pay them.

    Forever, keep them you never know when they will come in handy. I had a situation where I was given a ticket for speeding. I paid my fine and got a letter in the mail saying I paid. 3 years later I was getting a loan and they said I couldn't b/c I owed $47 dollars to a county in Idaho for a speeding ticket. I called them and said they sent me a letter saying I paid, they refused so I sent them a new check, which 3 weeks later they sent me back a refund saying I didn't owe, only to send me a new bill. I called threatened to take them to court and they dropped.

    There is no reason to keep the tickets after you have paid them. I'd keep the proof of payment pretty much forever.
