lesbianism is definitely not a choice. that's like saying being straight is a choice. if you're straight, you just feel attracted to the opposite sex, you dont say to yourself "Hey self, i want to like girls today." it's just how you feel. You are just born the way you are, you don't choose to be that way.

Some people disagree, but as a lesbian, I know for certain that it's not a choice. It's in youre genes, but it's not heriditary, or anything.
Some girls act like lesbians, but aren't and do it for attention.

It's a choice.
Sexuality is simply a preference and opinion. Opinions are not genetic.
Homosexuals say they are "born like that" because it helps them feel accepted.
An infant has absolutely no preference of anything because it doesn't know anything. When that child is brought up, it decides what it likes, usually based off of what society thinks is right.
I'm sure if homosexuality were considered the right thing, it would be more popular than heterosexuality.
Also, keep in mind that homosexuals have converted to heterosexuality. How can you explain that if it isn't a choice?
Shane- No, I'm right. It doesn't feel like a choice because they believe so wholeheartedly that it isn't one. Do you know how powerful the human mind is?
I know people that have converted and love their new partner and regret their old lifestyle.

Phable-no, you're wrong. If homosexuals tried to be straight they'd feel awful and it's a choice to choose being straight when you're gay!
It's not genetic per say but it's nature and nurture kind of thing. You're kinda born with it but environmental backgrounds can influence things a bit.

It's genetic, I think. It could be something else (I heard something about "hormone imbalances in the womb"), but it's clearly NOT a choice.
I despise gay/bi people who say that it's a choice. They shame the whole LGBT community.

um we're just kind of born this way. It's not our choice and it's not passed down from generation to generation.

It's not really either...
It happens because of a horomone imbalance during the fetus's developement.
