notarized letter for out of the country flight?

i'm taking my boys on a trip to mexico and my boyfriend got a notarized letter granting me permission to take the boys out of the country except that the notarized guy just put the name of one child and i leave tonight the place is already closed. i called the guy and he said to just write in the name of our other child. do you think i should have a problem?

    Yes, I would think it the name is written in different handwriting or hand written on a typed page that you would have a problem.

    Yeah, that's going to be a problem. This is what happens when you wait until the last minute to take care of stuff. In addtion to the letter you will also need the boy's birth certificates to verify the fathers name. And passports too.

    If there are handwritten changes on a document, the changes should be initialed by the notary, or the letter should be retyped. You're highly likely to run into problems with an altered document.

    Um, it's YOUR child, why do you need "permission" from anyone?
