when a person dies and ...?

A good friend passed and has a benificary but we have no idea who it is. How would we find out ???? My friend has the deed to her trailer and it is his...but we wanted to know who the benificary is cause they may want this womans things and old pictures. All her relatives that we know and I know have passed on. Thanks

    There's really no such thing as a general or global beneficiary. A person can be explicitly named as a beneficiary in a life insurance policy, or named in a will or trust (I don't think it's called exactly that in those documents, but it's the same thing).

    You are probably thinking about someone who would be named in a will, technically an "heir". If there was a will, she would have named someone there. If no will was found among her belongings, and you have no idea who (lawyer) she might have used to create a will, then, depending on the laws of your state, any possessions of value (like a bank account) might go to the state. In other states there are default rules about who gets things, according to their relation to the decedent. If their are no remaining relatives who would have an interest in the pictures, etc., then, sadly, her things really have no value to anyone, and somebody will have the sad duty of discarding them.
