If the covenant with Abraham was eternal why did g-d reestablish it at Mt. Sinai and how was different?

    His covenant with Abraham was the same covenant that he had with Moses. Moses was a Levite (Abraham>Isaac>Jacob>Levi>Moses). God simply gave Moses and his people the laws as a guide to conduct. It was not considered a new covenant. For example, circumcision was a part of the covenant with Abraham - and covered under the law of God.

    God made a Covenant with Abraham and all of future descendants. There were not descendants at the time yet.

    God had to personally make the Covenant with the descendants.
