Why is it when Mormon answers here always get "thumbs down?"?

I'm a Mormon and all of my answers get the thumbs down. Also every time I see answers by other Mormons they always have a few thumbs down.

The questioner believes that what he/she is saying is the truth. If you put something that disagrees with that, even though it is the real truth, you will get tds, because in their eyes you are the one who is lying. Forget that you are a member of the Church and know what is being taught, you are still considered to be the one who is lying. They have the critics to tell them what the truth is, and they can't see that those types of critics have only one thing in mind, to twist the truth into what they want the truth to be, and also lie about things which they read a sentence or two about in some obscure writings on the Church.

And yes, Journal is Discourses is considered obscure, not every member has read them or is even familiar with them because they are not one of our doctrinal books. Plus, that verse in 2 Nephi is not talking about blacks. It is speaking of one tribe, descended from one Hebrew man, who had turned their backs on God. The curse was the separation from God, the darkened skin was a sign which was for the other tribe, also descended from that same Hebrew man, so they would not inter-marry and run the risk of being cut off from God. Read all 2 Nephi and you will find this out. And it you read the entire Book of Mormon, you will see that it is about these two tribes, not every native American in the country.

Blacks are not even mentioned in the Book of Mormon. And the mentioning of them in the Book of Abraham is telling of their origin. Other Books of Abraham, non-LDS, say the same thing, so it is not an LDS idea. Nor are there any negative things on blacks in the Doctrine and Covenants.

People tend to give thumbs down to answers that lie, misrepresent the truth or unapologetically defend a church on a point that is obviously weak. Most Mormon answers I see on YA are either lies or weak attempts to defend the faith; I've never seen someone concede a point by saying something like, "Look, I think it's weird too,..." or "This is something I struggle to believe, too, but..." Instead, it's 100% "The Church is right. Its way or the highway, heathen."

I think the biggest problem is that information is widely available on the Internet about the truth about a lot of aspects of the church, but Mormons still deny them on YA. Temple rituals, Code of Health, tenants and beliefs... it's all available online, but Mormons still try to hide the truth in answers here. It almost makes me wonder if some people work for the Church doing nothing but trying to "tidy up" the answers here. Mormons lie to potential converts and Christians about things you inevitably find out if you join the church. "Milk before meat," right? It's repulsive.

Forums like this can be like politics sometimes, in which people support their preexisting preferences or ideas more frequently than they consider the other side. Many people have negative preexisting opinions of Mormonism, so they give you a thumbs down. Don't take it personally- just express your honest opinion as clearly as you can and you're likely to get some thumbs up sooner or later.

Most other Mormons tend not to complain much so I'm really surprised, there are times when we all get thumbs down too much or maybe you have someone with multiple accounts following you about, you don't have to do much to upset them.

Pick your questions wisely. Not every troll needs an answer.

    Don't take your ratings personally.

Sometimes you'll want to say something you know will get thumbs downed, say it anyway. They may have given you a thumbs down, but they read it.

You need to ask yourself...Do you want the approval of men or of God?...don't worry about the thumbs down from men....if you know that God is going to give you a "thumbs up" for it!

It just tells you that LDS are overpowered by the protestants and catholics who disagree with its teachings. In 2010 there were an estimated 14.1 million Mormons

Poor baby. You might want to leave that cult you belong to if you want positive reinforcement. Join the 5 million plus EX-mormons who get even more thumbs down. By mormons, natch.

Only, we deeply revel in them. Unlike you, who become irritated by them.
