Catholicism is Christianity, don't separate the two. There are three kinds of Christianity, Catholicism, Protestantism, and Orthodoxy (some count Anglicanism as a fourth or with Catholicism, but I digress).

Catholics are no less Christians than Protestants, please stop spreading that.

Anyway, in the Catholic Christian Faith, the laity can say prayers of exorcism. But only members of the priesthood can perform the Rite of Exorcism, and even then, only with the approval of the local Ordinary (almost always a bishop). Baptism is also considered a form of exorcism in that it expells evil and sin, but I know that isn't what you meant.

i think of all Christian Church has some way of coping with this project. The RC church has specific regulations as to who can and how, while, why, etc. that it rather is finished. The RC church is greater prepared approximately exorcism, which i think of is a reliable ingredient. quite a few the different communities do exorcisms in an extremely disorganized way and don't additionally be attentive to while one is mandatory and many times do one while the priority is rather some thing else. The RC church is greater rational in it rather is physique of concepts.

Only a Catholic priest can do the rite of exorcism as they are the only ones with authority through Apostolic succession. Non Catholics couldn't possibilly do it as they do not have the Sacrament of confession to remove their sins first or Christ's authority.

Protestants think they can.

Catholic Exorcist Priests know they can.
