Baby rats coming any day now..?
Is there anything special i need to feed the mom after/before she has them.At how old should the babies be separated and my mom says she might let me keep one of them.How can i talk her into letting me keep two?(any extra info on what i should do would be nice.)

-If you're using a cage with wire sides, you need to move her into a tank. A ten gallon terrarium is perfect for this. Pups can get stuck or injured in bar cages, leading to lots of problems or death, so its important that you move her soon.
-I mix a little peanut butter, some mashed banana, and honey for my females to get the lots of calories. She wont need more than about a quarter teaspoon every other day.
-Babies should be separated at four weeks. Males start becoming sexually mature around 5-7 weeks, so this is crucial.
-I would just ask her.
