What's the difference in a spinal compression fracture and a spinal compression deformity?

When I research them online it talks about them like they are both one in the same.

When I read about compression deformities and fractures it says they happen to the elderly. I am only 25 so I am wondering why my MRI found a compression deformity.

Also, my back really hurts...is this normal for compression deformities?

A compression deformity is a chronic/permanent condition that is usually the result of a compression fracture. If you have this type of deformity and no history of trauma, your doc needs to do some evaluations to determine its cause.

    Best wishes and good luck.
