Is it alright for my cat to bite my kitten in playfight?
OK, so I just bought this domestic long hair last month, he is 3.5 yo male cat now. But before that, I already own a 6 months old female kitten who loves to play and got lonely if we left her alone in the house.
Anyways, their introduction took about 3 weeks more or less, and now they like to play together. But the nature of their game is hide and seek, or catch-me-if-you-can. Usually the cat doing the chasing and the kitten doing the teasing.
I was OK for the play thing, but what worries me is whenever the big cat already catch the kitten, he tends to bite her with his oh-so-big fangs.
She usually lets out a small mice-like whimper.
And when that happens and I was anywhere around, I would scold my big cat in defense of being worried with kitten's welfare.
Anyways, my question: Is it alright/normal/OK for the play fight to go unwatched for or do I always need to supervise them?
But my kitten is such a teaser she actually likes to make the big male cat to chase her... should I stop this? And how?
Thank you.

No blood means no problems. I also assume he is neutered, or my opinion would change.
My youngest kitten at the time would seem to be set upon by an older kitten, and she would scream out. Bloody murder screams, which would result in her being let up. And then what happened?
She gave it back as hard as she got it, but it was in silence. So she was bluffing and for her it worked.
They are working out a pecking order. There can only be one alpha kitty.

That's completely normal. My cats do that all the time. I felt the same way when I get my kitten, who is now almost 4 years old, but my much older cat was the same way. I still have to break them up occasionally. Just let them fool around, and break them up and scold when they get to rough. Eventually, they will learn and it will get better.

Its definitely normal. You may have to watch them play until she's old enough to handle it or he learns to not hurt her. If you scold enough times, they DO learn and their behavior DOES change. I would be patient and just watch then for a little longer.
