What are the different types of plastic molding?
Hi :D
What type of molding would I use to mold plastic around an adjuster screw so that it is user friendly? If i have an ordinary screw and wanted to put a small plastic hand grip on it, what molding technique would i use to do this??
Cheers
Tom

It's not practical to use injection molding for one screw, as it would cost several thousand dollars for just a mold and then you'd also need an injection molding machine.
You should create a small mold, and pour melted plastic into it with the screw in the middle (make sure its secure). Then cool the mold, but not the part or it could crack.

Probably injection mold. Of course, the screw head needs to be such that it can be molded onto, and maintain friction between the skew and handle.
Best though, would be to get a screw made with a handle. or braze/weld a metal handle to the screw.
