Where are the Albanians in Montenegro from?
What is the history for Albanians in Montenegro. Where are they from? My father was born in Ulqin and i'm curious. Did the albanians from Montenegro ever actually live in Albania? Are they really Serbs? And we all have -ic last names. I don't get it.

I answered your other question about the "vic" at the end of the last names. It was added by the Yugoslavian government so that the Albanian last names would appear Slavic.
Yes, Albanians living in Montenegro are really Albanians. Albania used to be called Arberi, but in the 6th Century the Slavs moved to the West and settled in the Balkans in South East Europe. They settled in Dardani (modern day Kosovo & half of Montenegro). The Arberesh people (Albanians) were already living there when the Slavs moved there, some ended up moving to Arberi and moved back to Dardani after the 17th Century.
Then, 600 years ago the Turks (Ottoman Empire) made their way through the Balkans and took over Arberi and Dardani. Shqiperia Etnike consists of Albanian, Ilirida (Albanian half of Macedonia fyrom), Kosovo and half of Montenegro). When the Balkans were finally free in 1912, they were unfairly split in 1913 at the London Conference giving Kosova, half of Montenegro, and Ilirida to Yugoslavia, and half of Chameri was given to Greece.
I hope that answered your question.

Montenegro used to be part of what was once called Arberia which was divided from the mother land Albania like the rest of the Albanian territories , Kosovo , southern Serbia, fyrom and southern eprius it does not make Albanians in Montenegro Serbs but it means they are Albanians who remained in their lands even though it was given up to its neighboring countries

They've been living there since historical times when the whole area was known as Illyria, it's just that after WWI and during the Treaty of Versailles, those territories were given to Yugoslavia.
