How to end annoying M-shift?

Hey, I'm kind of hoping for another therian or whatever you want to call yourself to answer. I'm a therian or otherkin since I'm not completely sure if I'm a real animal inside. I'm not too concerned with the terminology at this point I just need help from someone who might know about this stuff. I've been having an M-shift or Ph-shift (again don't care much for terminology) wherein I feel phantom limbs like ears on top of my head and a tail. I've been walking on my toes for the last few hours just because it feels so weird when I don't. I feel like my body doesn't match up with how my own image of myself is and it's making me feel like I have dysphoria of something. I want to make it stop, it's depressing and I can't keep my mind off of it. Every time I try to wag my tail I'm reminded of the fact that I don't have one. How do you stop an M-shift or Ph-shift?

There are a lot of people who truly believe they were one type of animal or another in a previous life. This is a controversial subject; a lot of people who take reincarnation very seriously don't want to talk about this aspect.

But it's true that people can remember past lives, and when that life was in such a totally different form, it can be very difficult to deal with.

If you were an animal in a past life, then what you're experiencing is a part of who you are in spirit, even though it may be inappropriate for your current physical body. Many people find a mental shifting experience enjoyable, because it makes them feel more "real", more in touch with themselves.

You're not enjoying it, though. I suspect it's because you're obsessing over the idea that you _shouldn't_ feel such things. One of the most important things I've learned in life is that our feelings all have reasons behind them. You feel what you feel for a reason. So don't obsess over the idea that you shouldn't feel this way. If you don't want to feel this way, you can learn to dismiss the feeling. Just don't obsess over it and don't expect to get rid of the feelings immediately. Ignore them and they'll decrease over time.

Or you can ponder these things during times when you're alone or with safe companions. The feelings do have a reason and I think it could be valuable to discover what the reason is.

Personally, I don't think it's so bad to have a fondness for the memory of the animal life while living in a human body. It is possible to embrace that aspect and still function normally in human society. Embracing it can even be an advantage if you are in a situation of dealing with animals.

You need to go see a professional because your problems are mental.
