Right on! Just because someone may type funny doesn't mean they should be humiliated. In fact, what makes them so perfect to attack anyone?

Some people feel like they can hide behind a computer when you really can't. They feel like they can say whatever they want and get away with it. When in reality, they can actually be found.
Secondly, some people are just heartless. I got insulted too when Im asking for help. I don't understand why people have to be rude about it. He just went off and called me stupid. I mean I didn't know and a lot of people didn't. Isn't that why yahoo Answers exist?
Thirdly, sometimes people ask stupid questions like "I just got fingered, am I pregnant?" Someone really did ask that question on here and she got a bunch of sarcastic and insulting answers. When you ask questions are are obviously Common sense, they will get insulted.
Lately, a lot of people get annoyed by the questions like "am I pretty" or "will you go out with him" or "rate me". Honestly that's NOT what yahoo is for. And it does get annoying. So when people ask that, they better be prepare for insults. Not compliments. There's even scams or spams that pretend to be actual people when they're trying to get their page out or make money off of you or give you virus.
It's not just the answers, its also questions.

It's sad but it is a fact of life that on all networking sites like this it does happen. People who are as timid as mice in real life can get a kick out of being (or pretending to be ) hard on here. If you met them in the street they would not have anything to say. Do not let them upset you, the majority of us are reasonable friendly people. Ignore the idiots and enjoy the site

Unfortunately the anonymity of message boards tends to bring out some less than pleasant people and others who seem to enjoy causing problems rather than providing solutions. It's like in school when the teacher asked , are you helping with the solution or are you part of the problem.Try to ignore them, report them if they break community guidelines or TOS. Fortunately the majority of members are sincere, polite and try to help other members. There are also point gamers who answer just to get 2 points the easy way they should be reported

Abusers insult people online because they think they can get away with it because they feel secure in their anonymity hiding behind a computer monitor and keyboard. The are NOT anonymous, and there are consequences, BUT YA COMMUNITY MEMBERS HAVE TO REPORT ABUSE to the Yahoo BEFORE Yahoo Inc. can do anything about the online abuse. YAHOO EMPLOYEES DO NOT READ OR MONITOR THE YA BOARDS, except as a hobby on breaks. EVERY YA COMMUNITY MEMBER IS ALSO A MODERATOR OF YA. That's why the "Report abuse" buttons are there. USE THEM.

There's a HUGE difference between an insult and the truth....many people get the two confused.
