ENT doctor today...what to expect?

I am 22 years old and going to an ENT today. My doctor refered me because I keep getting back to back sinus infections(4 just since 2012 began), and I have a sore throat just about every day. What can I expect on the first visit today? Do they usually do surgery? Im thinking he may want to remove my tonsils and anoids. Any thoughts? Anyone else gone through the same thing? What did your ENT do for you?

OK. I have ENT appointments regularly. Of corse, I've had over 50 something surgeries. LOL. He/She will examine you like usual for Physician appointments. I've had scopes of my throat. Its where they stick a scope down your throat and examine it. BUT THEY NUMb YOU, so you will NOT feel it. Its fun for me, because I LOVE watching my throat on camera. I want a broncheoscopy so badly. LOL. But he will examine your Ears as well, and if necessary clean them out with a little device, and maybe a suction machine. DOES NOT REally hURT, but you do feel p ressure. He might if necessary Test your hearing. And that's pretty much what you might expect. You might have other diagnostic testing such as an MRI Scheduled, or Cat Scan, or whatever he/she feels necessary.

Don't worry. Its going to be just fine.

Today the ENT is just going to look. He/She may be able to figure out what's going on, but you may need X-rays or an MRI. Once he/she figures out what's going on, the two of you can discuss options. Surgery is a last resort and only reserved for the most severe cases, so don't be surprised if the ENT recommends prescription medication and/or nasal sprays first.

My wife has seen an ENT for several years because she has nasal polyps (growths in her sinuses). The ENT said she is in his personal Top Ten Worst Cases he has ever seen. She had to have surgery, but the good news is the polyps haven't come back. On the flipside, my father went to see an ENT for sinus infections, and his ENT determined his sinus problems were caused by allergies. He referred him to an allergist, and the allergist was able to fix the problem with allergy treatments and medication.

at present the ENT is in basic terms going to look. He/She could be waiting to make certain what's taking place, yet you will be able to wish X-rays or an MRI. as quickly as he/she figures out what's taking place, the two one in all you are able to communicate innovations. surgical technique is a final hotel and easily reserved for the main extreme circumstances, so don't be stunned if the ENT recommends prescription drugs and/or nasal sprays first. My spouse has considered an ENT for countless years by fact she has nasal polyps (growths in her sinuses). The ENT stated she is in his very own appropriate Ten Worst circumstances he has ever considered. She had to have surgical technique, however the solid information is the polyps have not come again. on the flipside, my father went to work out an ENT for sinus infections, and his ENT desperate his sinus issues have been brought about by hypersensitive reactions. He referred him to an allergist, and the allergist grew to become into waiting to repair the priority with hypersensitive reaction remedies and medicines.
