Do you like a cruiser for long trips?

I see many cruisers on the highway when I travel and I was wondering how comfortable they are on a long trip? I rode a Harley Sportster on a long trip and its defiantly not built for that, I will never do that again. I have travelled all of North America with a Sport Touring bike, it works well and I feel a Touring would be much better. Does your butt get soar? Cross winds? No fairing or windshield to protect you from the weather. Overall rider fatigue. I often run from 600 -1000 miles a day if I travel solo.

They don't call them touring bikes for no reason. My 05 Road King has spent many a mile ripping along the highways of the east coast. I just did an Iron Butt Saddle Sore ride ( 1100 miles in 19 hours). I have also put many days of 600 - 900 miles, the pillow top seat probably hasn't hurt. And to think I used to make sport of riders who had windshields, what did I know. Nope my butt doesn't get sore, my head wearing a helmet does bug me at times.

I ride a Kawi Vulcan Classic. It feels like my living room couch. The wind is almost nonexistant even tho there is no windshield, mayb it's the huge headlight that buffers it. At 90mph there is no noticable wind pushing the body away from the handlebars. My hands might need a stretch, but that's about all that gets fatigue. I guess a cruise control would fix that too.

I've had a few sport bikes, one Suzuki cruiser and I now own a Triumph Tiger 1050 SE. The Triumph is waaaay more comfortable at speed and I can ride much longer without getting fatigued. I can ride around 230 miles on the interstate before needing to fill up the Triumph.
