ARM,AIRFORCE OR NAVY FOR A MARRIED PERSON BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF DEPLOYMENTS?
Who gets more deployments? I am having a hard time deciding which one to join for several things. I am considering the Airforce, Army and Navy but I have found pros and cons for the three of them. The Airforce takes care of its people but I wouldn't like to be sitting most of my career on a desk....The Army you are guarantee to work in the job you signed up for but I they do long deployments...The Navy is my favorite but I am not guaranteed to work in the job I signed up for plus many sailors have said that the Navy is not for someone who has a family.
Just so that you guys know if it's a bit of a help I am interested in a Linguistic and Photography careers with the military...
I would like to hear from you guys more pros and cons for each branch that could help me decide better which one is better for me.
Thanks!!

AF Deployments are all 6 months, with 18 months home time. How often... depends upon the base, the mission, and the career field. At one point hubby deployed 5 times in 5 years. Next base... their mission was done from the base itself, so very few in aircraft mx deployed. SF is notorious for 6 months gone, 6 months home. Current base.... the are non-deployable due to the wings mission. But our maintainers cover a 12 month window, with two large groups each covering a 6 month block, and tgey do this every other year.
So you just never know!

Dont believe the hype
1. AF takes ccare of people -- thats BS the AF treats enlisted as an affter thought
At one time the AF had better housing, but not any more, the other service have caught up
promotions are the slowest in any service branch
deployments are usually 90 days every two years, but can be 6 months every year
2. Navy -- you have to deal with both deployments and with sea cruises
expect to spend half your enlistment away from family -- thats more than any service branch
3. Army -- deployments are now every 3rd year, so your looking at one deployment in your first enlistment
Note: desk jobs ? i never saw anyone sitting at a desk in the AF, -- everyone was out of the flightline working

I agree that the Navy isn't good for someone who has a family.
This is a copy/paste from something I just typed up:
"...that ship could potentially be gone for half the year, not including deployments.
My boyfriend's ship was out for probably half my pregnancy (in and out, not one long time), he missed our daughter's birth, and his ship has been gone every two weeks since then.
I'm in the Navy as well and my schedule was about the same when I was still on a ship. But even with that experience and understanding it's still been really hard for me to see him go."
Also, in the Navy depending on your job, you could also be working long hours. My boyfriend is an MC (photojournalist) and he typically gets off work at 1500-1600. I'm an engineer and sometimes getting off at 1900 was a good day.

Army deploys the most. Marines and navy followed by air force and then coast guard (humaritarian releif and rescue).
