    Subtract 5 from both sides

    y - 5 = 4^x

    Take log

    log(y - 5) = xlog4

    x = log(y - 5)/log4

    This question rarely happen to be seen in a Math book. Because x and y are very common variables. And for 2 variables, 2 equations are necessary(but only 1 equation here) . In your case ,if solution means expressing in terms of x, then Càn khôn 's solution is mine also.

    a) Use a graphing calculator or any unfastened on line graphing software, or a sheet of graphing paper for various values of x, say 5, 10, 15 minutes b) 28degree is the Temperature, Temperature is given with the help of T(x), so plug in 20 for T(x), 28=60(0.5)^(x/30) + 20 Now, remedy for x. (carry x on one area, each thing else on the different area) c) verify the quantity chanced on partly (b) i.e x, the elapsed time, with the graph on area (a) Does this make experience? permit me be responsive to. good success!
