BANKING FEES....HOW MANY OF YOU ARE SICK OF THEM?

when I opened my account with Chase both my checking/savings accounts were linked and I was told that there would be no service charges fees due to direct deposit. Now they are beginning to charge withdraw fees from the savings account.

"We will charge you a Savings Withdrawal Limit Fee for any withdrawal or transfer out of your account over six in a monthly statement period. We'll waive this fee if you have a balance of $15,000 or more at the time of your withdrawal or transfer out of your account in a Chase Premier Platinum SavingsSM, Chase Plus SavingsSM, or Chase Business Select High Yield SavingsSM."

I don't know about you, but who the hell has $15,000 in their account with this economy the way it is? Leave it to greedy bankers who have millions to always want to screw the poor person. I hope that when it's their judgement day and they are asked why they deserve to enter the pearly gates and are denied, that they are told what they usually tell everyone else here on earth; 'it's not personnel, it's business' - now you have to live your life in hell because of these selfish practices!!!! I say this, since none of the wallstreet banders had to pay the price of imprisonment for the shady dealings that they did with other people's money.

Update:

@Yurmi .....good for you, but not everyone is that lucky.

Update 2:

@Farsi...I do have direct deposit.

Update 3:

@RTFM...just found out today, perhaps it is a rant, but people also have a right to protest against unfair banking practices.

Update 4:

@ Ed, yes they have rules and regulations, however, when you're told upfront about their policies yet fail not to mention certain details such as this upfront, then they are defauding their customers. I had even asked if there were any additional charges with direct deposit and the person responded 'no.'

Banking fees have been around since time began. A bank is a business if there was no fees there would be no income...

The bank tells you exactly what to do:

    - either have fewer withdrawals

    - or, switch to another kind of account

    - or, keep a higher limit = I know you sound like more of a kid (20-something) so $15K may be lot but whne you are "an" adult, almost all of us have more than $15K in the bank.

So instead of ranting here at Y!A, why not just pop in to your local credit union and transfer all your money there?

I have NEVER been charged a fee for ANYTHING at my credit union, except for an occasional stupid math mistake now and then years ago, when I would overdraw my checking account and hadn't yet set up an automatic transfer from my savings account.

    What a bizarre post.

You're not living in the real world.

    What shall we do?

Ban banking fees (the bank's primary source of income to pay its bills and also its employees) and then shut all the banks down because there is no money to operate them and you will have to hide your money under your mattress.

I have been in business for many years and I am totally bewildered by these naive people who somehow expect a business to operate without any income.

If you opt for a premium account, you pay greater fees than for a basic account.

I'm not. You can avoid fees by establishing direct deposit of your payroll checks.

Your avoid penalty and punitive fees by never overdrawing on your balance. It is your responsibility to maintain your checkbook register with every transaction and allowing sufficient time for deposited checks to clear.

I've been maintaining about $30,000 in Chase and about $200,000 in BofA. No fees for me.
