Oil pressure low, using a little more coolant than normal?
Hey! I have a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo (4 Litre engine). I feel like i have been going through a little more coolant that is normal, having to fill it up one every 4-6 weeks. Other problem is that my oil pressure will drop to about 1/8 when i drive 30 mins. No idea what to do, or what it could be. Maybe the head gasket? Looking for any advice, or what you think it may be.
Thanks again!

Lets address the oil pressure first,so long as it still registers on the Gauge your OK.Coolant loss, have you tried to locate the leak if it is external.Get a piece of cardboard and slip in under neath the engine area, after you have been driving, then check it the next day,see if there are any marks left by the coolant.I there is no evidence of a leak then may be it's internal, possible head gasket.

You will need to get under the Jeep with a flashlight and look for signs of a leak. Check around all the hose clamps, around and under the water pump and thermostat and the heater hoses. The oil pressure drop you mention is normal. As the oil gets hot it thins out some and the OP will drop a little specially at idle RPM's.

Coolant loss is head gasket or freeze plug, if engine has over 70K on it just normal wear on the bearings. Rebuild the engine, but as long as the oil pressure is over 20 psi your still safe
