Van Halen .VS. Van Hagar?

Just figured that I'd see what people thought on this time-driven battle. We all know that Roth was with Van Halen from the beginning, and with him, Eddie, Alex, and Michael produced some of the World's most known and most respected Classic Hard and Heavy Rock. Then Hagar took over and the band went from Roth's more "pop" style and geared more twords heavy keyboard power ballads. As with Roth, Hagar and the band also released some very popular high rated songs.

This does not have to do anything with "who was better" or "who was more popular". Just who you liked better. I like them both the same, but if I HAD to pick one, it would be Hagar.

    I love them both, but if I have to choose I'll go with Van Halen. I know Hagar has a greater vocal range and allows the band to explore more styles (especially a wider array of ballads). But the thing that is so attractive about Roth is his unique powerful personality. Hagar could blow Roth's doors off vocally, but he could never outcool him and I think that translates musically.

    Personally, I like Sammy better than Dave. Not only did you have the Van Halen/Hagar songs to choose from, Sammy had his own full catalogue of hits they could play in concert. Laugh if you want, but I think Balance is a very underrated album. Also, it was Van Hagar when I was growing up so I guess that has something to do with it. Plus I seen the Sammy and Dave show when they toured together and Sammy blew Dave's doors off.

    I have to say that I really enjoy Chickenfoot right now.

    Van Halen. It just rocks way harder. But Van Hagar is better for dancing with hott women, so both win.
