Your opinion on high rise scope mounts?
I got a Marlin XT-22 recently and decided to put a scope on it. I bought a $30 Simmons scope for it and it had the low profile mounts included. Well the mounts were so cheap that one of the internal threads got stripped so now it will not hold the scope in right. So I went to Dunham's and all they had was the high rise scope rings for $10 and they were made in the USA. Way better than the low rings for $30 that were made in China. So I put them on. Looks weird with the scope up that high but it is very sturdy. Looks like if you drop the gun it will bust that scope right off. I will have to be very careful with it.
3 AnswersHunting8 years agodead bolt busted off in door...won't come out?
after a few years, my cheap dead bolt broke. the spring in it broke. the door will not open since it is stuck in the lock position. So I took off both plates (key side and lock side) and I took my sawzall to the pate in the inside and cut it in half. well that bolt is still in the "lock" position. I took bent needle nose pliers down in there and pulled it as far out as I could then took vise grips to that bolt and clamped down tight. When I pull the bolt out as far as I can and try to push open the door it will not budge. I tried this several times. Don't see what the problem is. Any help? Thanks
3 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs8 years agoWhy does my dog roll in dead animals and garbage?
I don't know why he does this. He will also try to roll in my hair when I am on the floor playing with him...even right after I clean my hair with soap. He is a yellow lab/retriever mix.
5 AnswersDogs9 years agoCan you have warning lights on (Like ABS) during driver's road test?
My road test is in a week and I have a few lights on. Not sure if I can leave them or do I need to bust out the black stickers? thanks. BTW my truck runs fine, one of the sensors for the lights is messed up. And I don't feel like spending over 100 bucks to fix it.
1 AnswerOther - Cars & Transportation9 years agoHow to make a Arizona Arnold Palmer (Half Iced Tea and Half Lemonade)?

3 AnswersNon-Alcoholic Drinks9 years agoWill Sears replace misused Craftsman screwdrivers?
I know what your thinking...your thinking why not just take them back and see. I'm not gonna take my chances because my closest Sears is 50 miles. Plus the 50 miles back. Bought the set back in 2002 or 03. Philips ones are fine but over the years the flat heads got used to pry with. NO not me, I know better. Family and friends that don't know how to use tools. Anyways, I know that Sears will replace any Craftsman hand tool that breaks. Just don't know if they will replace misused ones. You can clearly tell that they were misused. No I am not gonna tell them that they were, but anyone with brains could tell. There is about 4 or 5 that need replacing. Thanks
5 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs9 years agoHow to free the insert (part that pulls out) of a Zippo?
I bought a cool off brand Zippo the other day. The inside part of it that pulls out to fill it is stuck in there good. Tried pliers and a lot of force to get it out. Won't budge. I don't care if i wreck the insert while getting it unstuck, just as long as I don't damage the case of the lighter. I have extra inserts for them. Anyone had this problem? If so got any tips? I don't think solvent or penetrating oil will work because it might damage the paint since it is getting old and chipping in some spots. Thanks
2 AnswersOther - Games & Recreation9 years agoWhy do I gag and get sick whenever I get excited or nervous?
I have done this since as long as I can remember. I am 16 and a male. It seems whenever I get very excited about something, or get nervous, I get sick to my stomach and gag. Sometimes It is not too bad, but other times I can't even walk or move. Like I said, I have done this for as long as I can remember. I have tried everything to get it to stop, like antacids and trying to forget about it. Only thing that I can seem to do to calm my stomach just a little is sip water slow.
I don't know anyone else that has this problem. No one understands this. It absolutely sucks. It is really messing up my life. Now that i have to take my driver's ed road test soon, I don't know what to do because I know that I will be nervous. Don't get me wrong, I am a great driver. I have drove before when I was like this and it involves one hand on the wheel and the other with a bottle of water. In fact I drive better with one hand...but I gotta have both hands on the wheel for my test. I don't know what to do? Can someone help me? thanks
1 AnswerOther - Health9 years agoWhat octane do you guys run in your 2 strokes?
I have always ran 87 in my 2 strokes with a 32:1 ratio. I recently got a new Husky saw and I was reading the manual and it said to use a minimum of 89. So far I have ran it about 3 hours with 87 and a 40:1 mix of Husqvarna synthetic oil. Also think it said not to run it with more than 10% of that ethanol crap. Do you guys think I should switch it to 89 or keep it where its at at 87?I think that someone a while ago told me that with a higher octane, your air cooled engine will run cooler. That true? Not sure since I have already ran it for a little while on 87...

1 AnswerHair9 years agothe easiest way to remove rust from a gun?
I was out shooting my shotguns with my friends the other day and when we were done I set them in the house with the intention to clean and oil them the next day. Well that night we had a twister come through and I was busy for the next few days cleaning up trees and what not. Yesterday I looked at them and they were pretty rusted up. So I took Rem Oil and wiped it down with a old wifebeater and it wiped it ll off. Only problem is that the metals course. I can still feel the rust there. Any way to remove it even more? Thanks
9 AnswersHunting9 years agoWhat do you use for Squirrel hunting?
Just was wondering what you guys used. More of a shotgun vs small rifle kinda poll I guess. I personally very rarely use a rifle. I find myself more of the less using my long barreled full choked 12 gauge with #6 shot lead for longer shots Or a sawed-off 21in barreled 20 gauge with #6 or 8 shot for shorter shots. All depends on where I go hunting at.

2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs9 years agoBest places to put V6 decals on S10?
Hello, I just bought two 4X4 decals and two V6 decals for my 2000 S10. The previous owner repainted it and decided to leave off the 4X4 stickers. (I decided to add the V6 decals for the hell of it) I know that the 4X4 stickers go on the box by the tail lights, but do the V6 stickers go in front of the front wheel wells, or behind them? Thanks
3 AnswersOther - Cars & Transportation9 years agoVan Halen .VS. Van Hagar?
Just figured that I'd see what people thought on this time-driven battle. We all know that Roth was with Van Halen from the beginning, and with him, Eddie, Alex, and Michael produced some of the World's most known and most respected Classic Hard and Heavy Rock. Then Hagar took over and the band went from Roth's more "pop" style and geared more twords heavy keyboard power ballads. As with Roth, Hagar and the band also released some very popular high rated songs.
This does not have to do anything with "who was better" or "who was more popular". Just who you liked better. I like them both the same, but if I HAD to pick one, it would be Hagar.

3 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs9 years agoNormal to load shells into the tube with the action all the way open on a shotgun?
Hello, I just purchased a used Savage Springfield model 67C in 20 Gauge pump. I know it is one of the worst shotguns ever made, but I got it for a good deal. After I bought it and a box of shells, I took it home and shot it. The problem that I realized with it is that I could not get the shells to stay in the tube, they would just bounce back out and not lock in. So I figured the shell stopper was bad and loaded it single shot. After I took it in the house to clean it, I messed around with it. Turns out that the shells with stay in the tube and load normally when the slide is all the way back and the action is completely open. I got 4 shells in there and took it outside and it shot like a normal pump shotgun should.
The thing that gets me is that I have one other shotgun, a Remington Model 31 in 12 Gauge pump, and you can only load the shells in the tube when the action is all the way closed. Is this normal for the Savage 67 to load like this (with the action fully open)? I have no clue if the Savage is broke or if it's just a safety feature? Thank You and happy shooting.
2 AnswersHunting9 years agoWhy do people consider a denim jacket to be gay?
I understand they are "out of style" now, but I don't see whats gay about them. I consider them to be a piece of Americana. They are rugged, warm and indestructible. So why do people consider them to be gay? If you wear jeans (and 95% of people do), why not wear a jean jacket.
