Magic the Gathering Ruling Question...?

Let's say I have a Warstorm Surge in play, which says that whenever I play a creature, it deals damage equal to its power to a creature or player. Now say I play a Wolfrir Silverheart, which I can pair to a creature upon entering play to give it +4/+4. Do I get to choose which order those effects go onto the stack? In other words, can I pair the Silverheart to a creature to make it an 8/8, and THEN trigger Warstorm Surge to deal 8 damage instead of 4?

You can deal 8. Warstorm Surge checks the creature's power when the ability resolves, not when it triggers. Since both soulbond and the Surge trigger at the same time, you can choose what order they resolve in. You can let soulbond resolve first, making the Wolfir an 8/8, then the Surge. As the Surge's ability resolves, it checks the creature's power at that time - it's 8, so you deal 8 damage.

    only deals 4.

soulbound happens after acreature enters the battlefield paired with an unsoulbounded creature.

so the game state goes. it enters the battlefield as a 4/4, then you declare if it would be soulbounded to an unpaired creature.

after only declaring it will trigger the soulbound ability.

So warstorm surge has triggered right before you have resolved the soulbound ability
