Lowering CPU Voltage?

I have an i7-930 at 1.25V. Three questions:

Does lowering the voltage decrease performance, such as hardcore gaming?

Does it prolong service life?

Will it lower the CPU temperature?

I plan on lowering it to 1.00 V ~ 1.05V. Is this stable? I have not stress-tested this yet...

Lowering voltage will decrease performance, prolong service life and reduce temperature. 1V is too low, in my opinion. You should "undervolt" your CPU by a maximum of around 10%. I would personally decrease it to around a minimum of 1.1V.
