What are these tiny black jumping bugs?
5 days ago I noticed a couple of these jumping bugs on my bed, I assumed they were fleas because we have 3 cats. I changed the sheets, hovered and gave the cats spot-on (gets rid of fleas). A couple of days later I was walking around in bare feet and noticed that loads of these bugs were jumping on my feet- at least ten or so on each foot. I hovered again and changed the sheets on my bed again, and was later walking in bare feet and couldn't see the bugs.
Then today I was revising on my bed and I saw one jump on my hand, so I stepped on to the carpet and they were all over my feet again. I just hovered and they seem to have disappeared for now.
I got a closer look at one today and I'm certain they're not fleas. They are tiny, black and can jump. They don't seem to bite or hurt. There are a few on the bed but most seem to be on the carpet. I can only find them in my room-nowhere else in the house. I live in England.
Any ideas what they are or how to get rid of them? Thank you!

Springtails?
I have no idea how to get rid of them. I had them, but I couldn't find the source of them. I crawled around my house on my hands and knees, and felt every inch of my carpet. No damp whatsoever. They just went away eventually.
They breed in damp corners. If you can find the source, fix your water problem. You shouldn't get any more after that.

Sure sounds like fleas to me. Ours are black and jump, even up my arm tonight.
It will take a 'treatment' of your home to stop those that are inside already. You can buy a spray or carpet powder to do this. They multiply fast! It sounds like a generation or them 'hatched' at once in your carpet and will soon be eating (biting) you or pets. Treatment is the only answer.

Hahah definite they are genuinely fleas! attempt getting them de-flead on the groomers or putting a number of that flea gel on the back of there neck. including slightly of of garlic to their food can each and every so often kill off fleas too. strong success! ideal deal with it immediately because otherwise the fleas will breed and also you'll have lots and lots!
