Picasa 3.9 problem with Dell Studio 17 and Windows 7 64 bit OS?

I can load the software for this upgrade on this laptop but when I interface digital camera via the standard USB connector cable it locks up the computer...won't recognize an external source of photos and none of the buttons will do anything. Have to resort to CTRL+ ALT+DELETE to get it off the computer. I have two other computers that have a v3.8 that work just fine--one with XP Pro and the other with VISTA. I've tried removing the v3.9 and downloading a late build of v3.8 but that doesn't seem to work either. HELP!!!

Try taking your memory card out of the camera and using a card reader to transfer your images.

Picasa 3.9 is compatible with XP/Vista/Win7 so should not be causing a problem, so try thecard reader and see if it works.

It is usually a faster way to transfer images, especially if your computer has a USB3 port.

EDIT: I received your email through yahoo answers, but my reply was not delivered to you.You can email me again if you have not solved your problem.
