Will my face grow?????? (I'm 15)'?

Hi, I'm almost 16 and ever since i got my braces taken off, i have noticed that my mouth looks so much smaller and jaw looks smaller in compairison to my face and my nose. Now my nose looks really big because my face is very small. Will my face grow to make everything on it look proportionate? also. should I stop wearing my vetainers so that my mouth shifts back to wear it used to be? Please tell my anything that can help my face look bigger. Do you know when your face stops growing

After I had my braces removed I felt the same. I thought I looked really different but when I mentioned this to friends and family they thought I was being ridiculous. Looking back a few years later I have come to the conclusion that it's like having a drastic haircut or hair colour change and although it seems really obvious to you, other people don't really notice or appreciate how different it is.

As for growing your face, I think that 23 years is generally accepted as the time when pretty much everyone has completely finished growing, though for some it is sooner. I would try not to worry too much for now because you are still fairly likely to be developing, and if you aren't there is nothing you can do about it other than keep eating a balanced & nutritional diet and hoping for the best.

If I were in your position I would definitely wear retainers as instructed. Having wonky teeth will not make your face look any bigger and it would be a waste of all the time, money and energy that goes into straightening teeth. Plus if your face does grow then you will definitely regret purposefully sabotaging your new smile. And on top of that, there is no guarantee that your teeth would go back to exactly where they came from - how would you feel if they ended up looking worse than when you started?

In the short term I think that if you really want to make a difference to how you feel about your face being too small your best option is a new haircut. Something that keeps the hair away from your face would probably help and if you go to a hairdresser and tell him/her what you want to achieve he/she will be able to suggest various styles until you're happy with one. Another idea might be to change your appearance using contact lenses or glasses (you can get plain clear glass if you don't need a prescription). You can experiment with different shapes and sizes of frames in opticians and find something that suits you, or if you're already a glasses wearer you could switch to contacts and see how that makes you feel.

Overall I would definitely say don't worry about it. Try to focus on positives about your appearance and not on the things you can't control. In my case, not only do I have a small head but also my nose is positioned at a slight angle. I'm 20 now and when I was 16 I was quite conscious of it but by accepting that I can't change it (and I did try!) I realised it really isn't a big problem unless I make it one and everyone has little quirks like this.

I hope some of this helped!

Take it easy kiddo, trust me they will grow faster than you think. Just try your best to avoid operations and other unnatural things. Just give it time and wait
