First car recommendations?

I am about to get my license and i need some recommendations for a car. My budget is about $16,000. i want a car with manual transmission that is relatively fast and fun to drive while being also reliable and will last me a long time. it also needs to have side airbags.

honda civics, acura integra, nissan 200sx, nissan 240 (if your lucky enough to find one), honda accord(1994-1997), dodge neon(fast car but not very pretty), mustang 50(im not a big fan of mustangs but there fun fast and alright on gas). these are all fun fast cars that you can probaibly find cheap on craigslist or a personal seller. there good on gas and you can put a couple of cheap upgrades to make them faster. like cold air intake or a performance exaust mabye up your cars timing and racing suspension when you get the money but these are the kind of cars alot of people from my city like to race especaily integras. but i dont know why you would need the side airbags lol.

i bought my 1997 honda accord lx 2door 5 speed for only 1400$ and i upgraded my timing (pay a mechanic to do it it and itcost me 25$),put a performance exaust, hollowed out the car and added a AEM cold air intake and it didnt cost me very much and its a pretty fast car.

Congrats on your soon to be first car! That is a decent budget to have and should get you something nice. A few suggestions to check out are the Sonic, Cruze, Spark, Malibu, or Impala. These are all Chevy models that are quite cool to drive and have good gas mileage. My favorite of the Group is the Chevy Cruze. This comes in manual transmission for all but one of model levels. It has some very cool features available like Bluetooth, a top of the 4 cylinder engine, Sirius XM Radio, and excellent color options. You can also get some great pre-owned options on the GM Certified Page which are tech inspected, under warranty, and have a 3 days150 miles satisfaction assurance. Possible models to consider are the Camaro, Pontiac G-Series, or a Cobalt SS. You should be able to get some out for a test drive. Good luck with whatever you decide!

Mazda 2 hatchback, extremely reliable and really cheap to run. depending on what year you want you could easy get a really good one for under 10k.
