How do I work out how many litres a fish tank holds?

I may be getting a tank from a friend which is biggers then the one I possess at moment which therefore means more options... I am just wondering how I measure how many liters it holds?

    Measure it in metric terms (cm)

    Width x Height x Depth then the figure it out in litres by simply following 1000 cubic cm = 1 litre

    i.e a tank of 10cm x 10cm x 10cm would hold 1 litre
