A serious story to those who have faith...?
When I was around the age of 14/15, I was having a terrible life. I wasn't to the point of suicide, but I did want to escape from being me and find something better.
Now, what was my answer?
Transformation.
That's right. No joke. Dead serious.
At that point, I believed that transformation was possible. I wasn't sure how, but I thought it could be done. Sometimes I even felt, when I made my hand into a fist, that I might be able to transform it into a hoof or paw if I really concentrated. However, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't.
One day, I found a website that reinforced such a concept. It was a website that promised people that they could obtain various magical powers for about $300. However, if you paid more, your abilities would be more potent, and you would be able to do much more than you could imagine.
To me, at that time, that blew my mind. The thought of such a promise was amazing, and I honestly felt as though the hope alone of one day having those superpowers would comfort me through my life. Unfortunately, there was no way for me to purchase the powers at the time, so I had to simply wait and hope to get them when I was older.
About a month later, the site was shut down. The web was streaming negative reviews of how people were ripped off, and how their belief in these superpowers was nothing more than a lie reinforced by flashy claims and a few cheap promises that couldn't be proven.
So, here are some questions I would like those of you reading to consider...
Did having such faith or belief in the superpowers make them any more or any less real than they were? Does faith play a part in how real something is? Was the reason that I couldn't obtain superpowers due to a lack of faith, or an inability to concentrate?
Or was it all simply nothing more than me wanting to believe there was something more, having that idea reinforced, and then accepting it as true rather than actually looking around for the actual answers?
@YES I DO
1) I don't think calling in the name of Jesus upon them would have done a bit of good, since that doesn't really do anything to begin with.
2) People trying to deceive you isn't proof of God. It's just proof of selfish people.

Herein you will observe the special pleading applied to starting with the Bible as the foundation for first principles. Everything else is wrong, my religion is right, therefore faith is useless except as placed in God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.
