Poll: Do you know any blind person?

Yes our school is a blind-friendly zone so yeah.

It has railing everywhere along the school and ramps next to the stairs etc etc and posters that say

"be kind to the blind"

Last year we had 2 blind people at our school (a boy and girl) in year 12 so they've left this year. I didn't really know the girl but the boy was really nice.

There was also once a legally blind (not fully blind) guitar playing guy who came to our school once. He was really funny, good at guitar and told us a story about how once he rode from his country town to the beach on his bike and it took him 3 days even though he's part blind. He was really funny and was like "People sometimes ask me how I met my wife." "I said, I kinda bumped into her. Then we went on a blind date."

BA: So I think they're just normal people except they can't see. Like Bob Bob said it makes me sad how they can't see and experience the world like we can ;(

I do--or rather did. I taught women's self defense to blind girls. As a woman they trusted me, as did their parents. The girls were quite amazing...they had abilities that came out of nowhere. They all did a GREAT job, and after a while I realized how great their hearing and sense of smell was. Little sweeties they were. This came through a special Girl Scout program.

i know someone who'd blind. he wasn't always blind, but he has a condition where all the muscles in his body weaken, including the ones in his eyes.
