Re. entitlement to free presciptions...U.K.?

We've been arguing about this...so, does anyone know..

If a person lives with another and both are not in work...and one person is entitled to income support - do both people have an entitlement to free prescriptions?

Or is it just the one person who is receiving income support/

Any help much appreciated, thanks.

    According to the NHS:

You are also entitled to free prescriptions if you or your partner (including civil partners) are named on, or are entitled to, an NHS tax credit exemption certificate or a valid HC2 certificate (full help with health costs), or you receive either:

    Income Support

    Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance

Income-related Employment and Support Allowance, or

    Pension Credit Guarantee Credit

I think it depends if the person who gets the income support is claiming for the other one then they might both be covered by the same certificate, if not a couple then I think they have to get their own certificate only way to find out is to ring em up and ask.
