Trying on wedding dresses today. any tips?

Finding a dress that you feel comfortable in, that is good for your figure and makes you feel wonderful and happy inside.

Try on all styles and have a picture taken of front, back, and side in each. A lot of times brides have a dream dress in a magazine but it totally doesn't favor them once on. My best friend was that way. She wanted a pretty strapless princess gown but she had very very boxy shoulders and all the strapless ones actually made her look less feminine. She tried on a scoop neck cap sleeved gown and it fit her body type sooo much better. She would never have picked it off the rack (I made her do it) and once on - it was magic! She did buy it and look amazing.

Also try to lift your arms in all dressed. If hubby or father is taller - you need to be able to get your arms up to dance with them. Some dresses can be confining.

Do your research before you leave and try to find out what kind of plus-size inventory they have, most bridal salons only carry very limited styles in those sizes. It might be tough to find many samples to try on given your weight and height, so you might have to just trust that the size they order will fit.

Find a dress that flatters your best attributes and hides your worst. Play up what you like best about yourself.
