Could I Still Be Pregnant?

I had unprotected sex on the 29 of May and on the 31 of May I started my period...Woke up with extremely painful cramps...Could i still be pregnant even if i had my period? My husband keeps telling me that I'm pregnant but I keep telling him that he's wrong because I'm on my period...Don't get me wrong I would love for my 16 month old baby to have a little sibling to play with but I just think that I got my period way too soon after having unprotected sex...Could i be wrong and still be pregnant? What Are Ur thoughts about this? I will really appreciate all of ur answers...GOD BLESS

Your period is the shedding of the lining of the uterus caused by a drop in hormones from not being pregnant. This drop happens exactly 14 days after ovulation. The lining that is shed is the very lining that a baby would attach to. If this shedding happened during pregnancy the baby would be shed with it and it would be called a miscarriage.

And Tabby if your aunt told you you could get pregnant on your period she must have failed her boards. You can only get pregnant during your fertility window. You are fertile for 3 days starting the day you ovulate. You ovulate 14 days before your next period. However your cycle can shift without warning. Also sperm live an average of 72 hours inside the female body, longer if the conditions are right. If there are live sperm in your body when you ovulate you can get pregnant even if the sex that left them there happened days ago. So unless you have an insanely short cycle you can not get pregnant during your period. Your pregnancy is counted from the first day of your last period because it is impossible to pinpoint the exact moment of conception. How far along a person is isn't how long they have been pregnant it is how long since their last period.

You CAN still get pregnant if you have sex on your period(it's been proven) so there is a possibility. The odds are kinda on the side of no though since you have your period. And the cramps could just be period cramps. You might want to see a doctor.
