Marine Corps Boot Camp Dental?

I am a Marine Corps poolee and am shipping in January of next year. I have cleared medically, but I am worried about the dental portion of the screening that takes place at boot camp. Basically, I have a lot of cavities mainly because of lack of insurance. I've done research and I'm pretty sure they"re minor cavities. Also they they don't hurt at all. I just want to know whether that is going to get me disqualified. So I can save some money and get them taken care of before I leave. Thanks.

You will go to dental they will do a work up then they will call you back later and put fillings, fix your teeth, etc. It wont DQ you bit chances are you will be doing something fun the day they have you come back.

I am surprised MEPS did not send you to a dentist for an evaluation. People have been rejected for the service before due to dental problems that prevent them from being world wide qualified.

Your best bet right now is to brush and floss well and use mouth wash. Even if your teeth are bad you can take care of the gums. Expect a lot of pain with your dental work as they most likely will numb up a quarter section of your mouth and do all the work on that one section at a time under local anesthesia. Probably will give you some antibiotics and hit you once a week for four weeks. They will also give you some very clear dental instructions that you had better follow....or else.

    meps wont check your teeth.

when you are in recieving at basic, you will get xrays of your mouth done. later on, they will make you an appt to see the dentist and get your mouth fixed.
