New AC unit stopped cold air flow?

Goodman 3 ton unit (two of them actually) installed with new furnaces about 3 weeks ago. Everything was fine until yesterday, (over 100 degrees), when i noticed the unit for upstairs had started to blow regular room temperature air. I turned it off and on about 3 times, no such luck, could not get cold air. The refrigeration unit was running (mounted on roof, but I can hear it).

Left it off for about 20-30 minutes, then turned it back on, and now working perfectly. Installer is coming to check system but would like some opinions anyways. Seems too odd for such a new system to be having any issues.

I can say that yesterday was hot, but we have had 100 degrees before already. Since I was at home, it did run more than normal. It happend to be the highest kilowattt hour day yet since i got this new system !

And the filters being new, are clean

Update:

Kilowatt seems to have been on the right track. The unit was overcharged.

You heard the condenser fan running, not the compressor. The compressor has tripped the overload protector and it took 20 minutes to reset.

    The cause could have been:

    1. The unit is overcharged.

    2. The compressor was supplied with low voltage, either from the power company, a loose connection, or undersized wiring.

    3. There is a loose connection in the low voltage wiring causing an intermittent power loss to the compressor contactor and compressor.

    4. The power company was switching its feeders to compensate for the high power usage on a hot day, and the compressor did not have a time delay to prevent restarting before the pressures had equalized. The time delay built into many thermostats often won't help in this situation.

Are your walls insulated well? If the machine stays on and never goes off the cold air will eventually not come back on because it's over worked. Maybe it froze up? But like you said a brand new one shouldn't do this.

sounds like it develop into possibly iced up up. verify your air filter out and make positive it is clean. your evap. may properly be dirty or a stopped up drain line are common fixes. if u checked all those and u nevertheless dont have ventilation and it is freezing up u choose an hvac tech to study the cost. if it does freeze up back dont turn the nice and comfortable temperature on to soften the ice. u ought to reason harm to the interior unit. in basic terms turn the mode button to off and turn the fan to on rather of vehicle.
