Of course you can. When you connect the jumper cables connect the ones going to your battery to the posts themselves. On the other car connect the cables one to the Positive and the other to a metal negative . I've started all kinds of cars and nothing has happened. Also check your battery if it holds a charge. If not replace it. If the new one goes dead, it may be your alternator not charging

Always connect the battery cable leads to the dead battery first then to the battery doing the jumping second. This prevents sparks over the top of the dead battery which can cause hydrogen gas explosions.
Jumping batteries will not damage the battery or car being jumped. You need to have a *battery load test done on the discharged battery to see what the reserve amperage capacity is. Don't be surprised if you need a new battery. Pick out a battery with the highest cold cranking amps at zero degrees Fahrenheit with the longest free replacement warranty.

People jump start every kind of vehicle.
Just don't get the connections reversed.
Plus to plus minus to minus.
After it's hooked up you should wait 7 minutes with the other car engine running.
If you didn't leave the lights on or something...
Your alternator may have failed.
The connections at the battery posts and clamps may be corroded.

If the battery is 4 or 5 years old or more, simply take the old battery to the auto store and buy a new one. Why take the chance of damaging your vehicle when you know you've got to buy a new battery anyways? Why take the chance of breaking down on the highway and paying a tow charge?

Geez - I are attempting rough to not judge, but wow. Did you also now not have your license? So now your sister is watching at getting fined for not having a license or coverage? And also you pled guilty as her? So she doesn't comprehend she has a courtroom date, and given your track document you're going to potentially fail to inform her about this court docket date after which she could have a warrant out for her arrest. And nonetheless, still now once you have completed all of this to your sister your best obstacle is yourself. YOU can't go to prison for the reason that of YOUR challenge. I assume its higher on your sister to have to face jail right? I don't even know how you may fix this, pleading responsible by using letter almost always means that the infraction is logged into some mysterious laptop process someplace which is run with the aid of court staff. Trying to get them to make a change in the computer method frequently takes an act of congress. You were obviously hoping that she wouldn't get a courtroom date and that you simply could simply plead responsible pretending to be her and it would go away. I'm sorry but you are real a horrible man or woman. I am hoping your sister finds out concerning the court date and you get indicted for fraud and lying to a police officer. I hope your sister documents expenses towards you. I do not suppose I would ever file bills in opposition to my sister, however my sister is not the snake that you're.

Follow the directions in your owners manual or you could damage parts of your electrical system.
Unless you already know why the battery was discharged you should check the drive belt, all battery connections for cleanliness and tight secure fit, and have your battery and alternator tested at AutoZone, O'rileys, or Pep Boys.

Richard knows what he is talking about. hook the pos and neg leads up to the vehicle that will be running then hook the pos. lead to the batter FIRST and THEN hook the neg lead to a good ground somewhere else NOT on the battery. (its risky because if you cause a spark it might ignite the hydrogen gas that a battery produces) remove them in reverse order once started.

Yes you can just make sure to put the + cable on first and put the - cable on the engine .remove the - cable firs after the car starts

yes put jumpers on the starter battery not accessory one and put the ground on the engine block
