What's the best route when driving from Mississippi to Utah?
In 2 weeks I'll be flying to Mississippi to drive my dad's truck back to Utah.
I'm wondering what the best route would be With Out going through New Mexico. With the wild fires there now I don't want to be breathing in smoke for hours.
So any ideas would be great.
@david, yes, another good reason to Avoid New Mexico all together. But I'm not sure if going straight up to Iowa or over to Oklahoma, or what

Kind of hard givng directions w/o knowing where your starting and ending points are But heres a general way to do it
The fires are in the extreme nothern and southern parts of NM so I-25 is out
I-40 to the US 89 N exut @ Flagstaff
get gas
US 89N to Page AZ , Kanab AZ ...........

be careful, in two weeks those fires might be a lot more out of control. you might want to wait to plan to make sure you miss the fires.
