What's the concrete under a gate called?
We installed a chain link fence, with a single 4' gate. We want to pour s strip of concrete under the gate itself so that the grass doesn't get trampled down. What's that called, and how do you install one?

technically its just called a slab. theres no specific name for it. figure out the size in square feet you want, (length times width = square feet) round off to the nearest higher number. then goto http://www.quikrete.com/calculator/main.asp and enter the answer you got. as far as mixing it, all u gotta do is mix a little water in at a time untill u get the consistancy of oatmeal. the thinner it is, the longer it takes to dry and the weaker it is, the thicker it is the shorter it takes to dry and the stronger it is. just build a square box with 2x4s for the form
