It's either because their fairy stories are being broken down and killed bit by bit, or because they want to scare you into becoming one of them, with such fictional locations as 'hell'. Additionally, they don't like other religions just because they belong to their own religion, even though their religion is just as delusional as any other.

and you don't and are not guilty. remove the mote from your own eye, before you began casting stones, why?
You have made an accusation that is an enormous generalization. Sad, but true. I would take it you do not know many Christians, nor do you have many Christian friends. If you have been in the forum any amount of time, then you would see just by the questions listed in the section that this is a two way street in the forum.
I don't see you giving a proactive suggestion here on how to fix your alledged problem with Christians, but I do see ALL of the negativity in your heart which reflects to biggotry from you.
lumping everything into one pot when it comes to characterizations and generalizations, will cause things to stick and burn even if slow cooked, also, will cause your cupboard to be bare shortly.
try to have an open mind and get out and meet and make some christian friends so that you may be able to better understand, lose your fears and gain great friends who are loyal and dedicated. This would give you an opportunity to express these things to them and possibly change their thoughts and behaviours if this be true.
what do you say? fair enough?

Think about it, most Christians go to church at least once a week and usually once somewhere in the sermon they're hearing about how things like the teaching of evolution in our public schools is destroying this great "Christian" nation "God" has blessed us with. It causes an emotion of "righteous" anger to rise up within them. The preacher will go on to claim that homosexuality, abortion, and a host of other sins are a result of these teachings. So when they retaliate to your questions with their so-called "righteous" anger they are reacting out of emotion based on what some preacher told them last Sunday rather than actually opening the Bible for themselves (which most of them never do) and actually reading the entire thing and discovering "Wow! They were right! This really is all a bunch of bullish!t!"

Congratulations on your open techniques and activity interior the early historic previous of Christianity. The useful Christian author and non-denominational pastor Lee Strobel, alongside with lots of his colleagues, shares your activity interior the writings of the Fathers of the Church. They settled very almost each question approximately scripture being asked as we communicate interior the 1st few hundred years of the church. My wager is that Strobel and friends have been attracted to the Fathers for the real historic previous of the early Christians, which has been grossly distorted via Dan Brown for his universal novels and movies. i exchange into in Rome over the Christmas vacations and visited the catacombs of St. Callista. It exchange right into a useful journey. there have been excursion classes for English conversing travellers, as nicely as Spanish, Germans, Dutch, and of course Italian audio gadget. We observed the grave of St. Cecilia who exchange into martyred for her faith in Christ and obedience to his ethical rules. The catacombs have been the burial places for Christians outdoors the partitions of Rome, no longer hiding places. Had Christians hid interior the catacombs, they could have been fairly hunted down and thrown to the lions. Cheers, Bruce

I've seen Atheists put Christians down and make fun of them countless times here, more often than I've seen Christians do it. So it's really both Atheists and Christians.

They can't think for themselves they need someone to run their lives. Jefferson said it best
[Creeds] have been the bane and ruin of the Christian church, its own fatal invention, which, through so many ages, made of Christendom a slaughterhouse, and at this day divides it into castes of inextinguishable hatred to one another.
-- Thomas Jefferson, letter to Thomas Whitmore, June 5, 1822
On the dogmas of religion, as distinguished from moral principles, all mankind, from the beginning of the world to this day, have been quarreling, fighting, burning and torturing one another, for abstractions unintelligible to themselves and to all others, and absolutely beyond the comprehension of the human mind.
-- Thomas Jefferson, letter to Archibald Carey, 1816
