Why is it that when someone says they don't mean to be offensive, they proceed to say the most offensive crap possible? For example, a zombie does not have a pulse, cannot talk, and eat brains. Not exactly a description that would apply to Jesus.

So let me make sure I understand what you are saying. You are wondering why people would choose to follow a person who preached love, forgiveness, and not judging? Why they would believe that God (by definition able to create the universe) sent his son to teach us? That god would be able to raise Christ from the dead? That a loving god would care about man so much that god would endure torture and death to provide us a path to redemption? That true love is displayed by sacrifice?

Its just absurd. I mean it makes a whole lot more sense to believe we are purposeless, meaningless, mutated, premordial pond scum and the infinitely complex universal laws came about by random happenstance.
