Why do men have facial hair and women don't?

I know it's caused by testosterone and hormones and all that, but what's the point? why would men need facial hair and women wouldn't?

Um... this question is kind of funny. Mostly because women do in fact have facial hair. It's just not as thick or pronounced like mens'... (most of the time). And the point is that women have more estrogen then men do causing less hair.... and it does in fact have everything to do with hormones. After a woman goes through menopause, the facial hair starts to thicken and become much more noticeable because her estrogen levels are lower. Men have more testosterone causing hair and women have estrogen which makes less hair. There is no point to it really. Unless you're looking at it from a GOD type of thing. And if that's the case you should ask your Preacher, Father, Pope or whomever you spend time worshiping on sunday.

    Hope that works....

Men don't ''need'' it, It's just one of the things that distinguish men from women.

It's probably as a result of sexual dimorphism from earlier roots
