a fluid ounce is still a fluid ounce?

AND IS 2 PINTS OF BEER THAT MUCH IN THE UK? WHY  AND HOW COMPARED TO ATTITUDE IN THE USA AND WHY?

2 pints UK = 40 fl oz UK or 38½ fl oz US 
2pints US = 32 fl oz US or 33.3 fl oz UK 
when measures were standardized the UK and US chose different

Well I'm from England, and using an imperial measure 2 pints is 40 fluid ounces. If it is anything else it's Americans being dicks.
1 American wet pint, is actually about 16 fluid ounces. It's probably because they can't handle as much alcohol as us, so drink smaller ***** pints.

2 pints = 32 fl oz

This is accurate for any liquid, including beer.
