Toyota Corolla won't start?

My 1991 Corolla with an automatic transmission starts some of the time and sometimes it doesn't start. It has been doing this for over a year and a half. I check the battery and it is fine with 12.5 volts. I turn the key and the starter will click like it should, just won't turn over. If it was a bad starter wouldn't the starter stop responding at all within a couple of days ? Could this be the automatic transmission neutral switch acting up ? How could I check the switch ? Any other ideas I haven't thought of would be appreciated. Thank you for any help. I need to figure out why the car continues to act up but then start. I need to make sure this car will start when I go to work.

Update:

I can take the battery out and it will start my other car, so the battery is fine.

Update 2:

I can take the battery out and it will start my other car, so the battery is fine.

either the battery is failing 12.5 volts doesn't tell you the power it can deliver, or the alternator is faulty or the connection between the battery and the starter motor is bad

If all your connections are clean (shiny inside) and tight then it is your starter, Toyota is a robust car and the starter will give you LOTS of warning
