It's really good to see you posting Sue. Mind over matter. yes, I believe you have written a strong message that many here, will be able to relate to.

Don't let it process or filter in

That's exactly what you have to do when anyone is peddling untruths. How true your poem is. If you don't digest it, then it won't eat you alive.

This can also be applied to any unpleasant situation. If you refuse to accept it, then it can't hurt you.

Please don't stay away. It's very lonely here at the moment.

We cannot survive as a species without denial. But some times it kills us as individuals. Whether it is good or bad in this instance only time will tell.

But I feel the pain behind the wall.

It doesn't matter if it is real - it will tell you anyway - and there you go with this thing in your ears and you try to make sense of what all of these sensible people are saying but they can't hear what is in your ears.

But Sue? Why do you have to go?

I like the way you began your poem,

with your exclamatory opening,

then to your strong message.

Decisive and evocative.

this is a truth

I keep re reading it - and I scan the pages of yahoo,

and see them growing thinner the real blood and guts of the poetry

gone, I try to see the younger people as beginners and nurture them as I was nurtured

but to what extent?

and are they real

and

there are those

who despise me

do not understand me

would undermine or

defame me

... I let it go

most days I do

and that is when I slip into your poem... and wear it

A good poem for many people to listen to and adhere to.

It is good to see you back and posting, especially when driven to do so.

I told myself 6 years ago I would write at least one poem per day, everyday, and I have stuck to that. Good, bad, or ugly.

I rarely bother posting here anymore, but you have inspired me to give it another shot.
