Water Damage Question!?

There was a small hole in the corner of my laundry room, where the floor meets the corner of the wall. I caulked this in a few months back, but the wall seems to be warping a little bit now around the caulk.

There's no water from the washer, and no other water in the room. The room is an add-on to the house. I'm worried the water in the ground is leeching up into my house... Is that a legitimate worry? Any ideas on how to keep this damage from getting worse?

Update:

There are no water pipes in the wall, and there is hardly ever any moisture in that corner, to the touch. I'm guessing the settling is the right idea...

Sounds like your add-on is settling somewhat. If you use a kitchen and bath caulk which is more flexible than painters caulk, it should solve your problem. If the crack gets larger or is water stained; then you have other problems.

Post a picture you may have a small leak in the wall. Any moisture around the wall?
