Do You Regret Going to College?

I often talk to others who have gone to college like myself and most of them say they regret it because it ended up being a waste of money and time. All they ended up with was huge debt and still are unable to get a job in their career field. Lots of people who didn't go to college still have solid careers in various fields. Do you regret going to college? Do you feel you could have done well without your degree?

CiaoBella is clearly out of touch with the current economy.

I almost regret going to library school (graduate level) because it seems to have closed more doors than it has opened. My field tanked majorly during the middle of my studies because the government started cutting a lot of librarian jobs. I got out of school two years ago, had a job for a few months (which was subsequently cut by the local government I worked for), and I haven't had much luck since.

I think my feelings about this are largely related to the current economy. If we were in an 'up' economy, and the government actually had money, I'd probably have a job right now.

Not even a little. Although, I think I am a different case. I did not get my BA nor am I starting my Masters for occupational reasons. I am there because I love the subjects I am studying. Regardless of occupational status, university has changed me and made me who I am today. You cannot regret character development and the acquisition of knowledge. It would be regretting who I am..

if you regret going to college and getting your degree YOU ARE AN IDIOT. clearly if you're so called friends haven't gotten a job in their field then they aren't doing enough to make that happen. I went to college (B.A.) and found a job in my field the week after graduation, yes I'm underpaid right now but I am now interviewing for jobs that pay double what I'm making now. If you didn't have a degree then you'd be so much worse off than having one.
