Am I too old fashioned or something?
Maybe it's too much to ask, but as a lesbian, I just want to find another woman to be with. Sure, I have my standards--Can't look like a man, no smoking, no heavy drinking/drug use.
But that's really it as far as immediate deal breakers.
Yet, it seems like the only women I meet are "bisexual"(I use the quotes cause the majority are just attention seekers), with boyfriends/husbands and want a threesome or for me to be a sideline relationship.
On the off chance I meet a single woman who is interested in women, typically she looks like one of my brothers and stinks like an ashtray. If she's remotely appealing, she typically just wants a casual sex sort of thing.
I mean, am I too old fashioned to believe in monogamy?
Am I a fool to want someone to write love poems to, take out to dinner, or just cuddle on the couch with?
Is there anyone else who wants the same thing?

I want the same thing! I have the same standards as you, I'm not a butch, not bi (just a lesbian), I'm not attracted to men at all so I would never even look at one, I don't smoke or drink (I have asthma and alcohol has too many calories), I don't think butches with short hair that dress like guys are attractive so I would never look like that, I have no husband/boyfriend, and I want to wait for a serious relationship to have sex.
I just want someone to hold and treat like a lady, someone I can cuddle with and love like no one else, someone I can talk to and someone I can comfort in thier time of need and someone who I can just take one look at everyday and it would just make my day.
I've met a few women like that but they were either straight or I wasn't "out" so I couldn't ask them out.
I guess I'm pretty "old fashioned" myself even though i'm a young adult lol. I hold the door for women, carry their things if it's too heavy, hold their hand so they won't fall if they're walking down a slippery hill (I i recently went camping), compliment them, tell them they look younger than they are, push in their chair when their done using it, etc... I'm confident we will both find someone, just keep your head up.

No, you are not too old fashioned. Stick to your standards and keep looking for someone that meets them. She IS out there. Unfortunately it's often not easy to find that special someone. Try joining some social groups, go on a glbt vacation, make friends with woman who are the sort you would like to be with; the friend might not become your soulmate but I'd bet she has similar friends and one of them may be just who you've been looking for. Above all don't rush things...if it's meant to be she will still be there a month or a year later.Good Luck!

By all accounts, less than 10% of the population is homosexual or bisexual. Many studies estimates the number as far lower, in the range of 3-5%. If you estimate that half of these are female, you're down to 2-3%.
Straight people have a hard time finding satisfying long-term relationships; the numbers are against you, so you're going to have to work a lot harder.

name the lady or her name you? He calls first...then I will name Hold the door open for the lady or permit her do it herself? He holds the door open Open the automobile door for the lady or she's flawlessly equipped? He opens the automobile door Stand up while the lady leaves the desk or simply sit down there? Stand...I discovered that as a youngster in personal tuition. When ever an grownup leaves or enters trhe room, you stand out of admire. Respect for a lady too. Pull out the chair for her or she will be able to do it herself: He must pull the chair out for me. I suppose it is being a gentleman and that's the style of guy i might select to this point and ultimately marry.

Your not old fashioned, sometimes it takes a while for the right girl to come!! If straight girls get guys to write love poems, take out dinner, and cuddle on the couch..Of course you will eventually find someone who wants the same with you! c:

There's nothing wrong with being picky and looking for a monogamous relationship. It may take time, but you'll find someone.
