Urgent! What to do when you're passport expires?
Help please! My plane is due to flight in 7 hours and I just found out now my passport has expired recently. I feel really bad for not checking it before but what's done is done. I am going overseas for a month to be with my very sick mother hopefully until she gets better. I could probably try to get a passport from the American Embassy over there but would they let me fly!? And if not what can I do? Please Help me! Thank you.

Go to the place you get your passport stuff done and get a passport done and ask them if you can have it done before your flight leaves and you will pay whatever you have to cause your mum is sick overseas and you have gone to help her out. Omg feel so sorry for you!

Plan on rescheduling your flight. You won't be allowed to board.
Even "expedited" passport service can take 2-3 WEEKS.
Your best bet is to call, explain your situation, and ask their advice:
From the United States: 1-877-487-2778 TDD/TTY: 1-888-874-7793
Automated Passport Information is available 24 hours, 7 days a week.
Speak with a representative Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., EST, excluding federal holidays.
If you live close to a regional passport center, you might be able to shave some time off.
By some miracle, you live near to Portsmouth, NH, you can get a same day replacement at the National Passport Center.
There are all sorts of companies that , for a fee, will do the leg work for you. Just Google "rush passport".
Good luck.

You simply will not be allowed to get on the plane. you must CALL the airline now and change to date of your flight to a week or 10 days from now. there will be a fee of about $150.00 to change the date of the flight, but you MUST do it. then, Look at the list below and pick the regional passport agency nearest to you. call them and make an appointment. then you go, wait, get your passport the same day. it takes a few days to get the appointment. OR...you can use a private company, pay them an wxtra fee and they can get the passport in a few days...in which case you could fly in a few days.

You will not be allowed to fly using an expired passport. You will have to go to US passport office and pay extra for a rush.

You cannot fly with an expired passport. You can go to a regional passport agency to get one in less than two weeks, here is info: http://travel.state.gov/passport/renew/renew_833.h... but unfortunately you will not be able to get it in seven hours :(

you stay home. Most airlines won't allow you to fly if your passport is within 6 months of expiring.
